OUR 1st DAY IN PARADISE

I've decided to go day by day to make it a little easier for me to sort through pictures and such. We had such a BLAST in Hawaii!! What a fun family vacation. The best part about it was that it wasn't a repeat of last Christmas where Isaac was projectile vomiting on the airplane, thus leading to wearing only a diaper on the freezing cold airplane with a nasty airplane blanket wrapped around him (because he had puked on me, and both of his blankets.) YUCK. Lets not go there.

I think it is safe to say that not one of us has EVER spent a Christmas with the sun shining, and the weather being over 30 degrees. Adding up all of our ages, that means in 353 years, none of us have enjoyed a warm Christmas. So before anyone wants to shoot laser beams at us for being in a sunny place, consider the fact. I would hope that someday everyone can have a vacation like this at Christmas time. I think it's safe to say that everyone deserves it! :O)

We had a long day of flying with a sleepless child climbing up both of our bodies as we tried to look like normal people with a normal child. Luckily, half of our flight from Chicago to San Francisco was on our second flight from San Fran to Oahu, so they were able to get a glimpse of adorable Isaac before he became the wild Isaac who deserves a spot at the zoo. Everyone was so understanding, and somehow was still smiling at him when we landed in Honolulu, which was beyond me. Sean must have walked 5 miles doing circles on the plane with Isaac, who would run, then stop, wave, and say in his adorable voice, "HI!!!!" Sean and I threw many looks of can-we-make-it-another-4-hours-of-this at each other, and we just kept counting down the minutes before landing. HOORAY! We made it and we were so happy! Everyone patted our shoulders as they passed by us as they got off the plane and congratulated us on making it thus far. 8 episodes of Baby Einstein movies, and 50 billion snacks later, I would say this flight was a success!

Within minutes of picking up our rental car, Isaac was snoring like an old man in his car seat. The beach house was 45 minutes away, which gave us ample time to cool down from the sweat-a-thon of trying to carry luggage to the car, while chasing a toddler who was trying to run in the streets every 5 seconds. Upon arriving, we set up camp in a room at the house, laid Isaac down for the night, and breathed a big sigh of relief as everyone started getting to the house to greet us (we arrive 2 days after everyone, due to Sean's schedule.)

I'm going to apologize now that these pictures might end up getting out of order because I'm getting more pictures from everyone who took pictures with their cameras. So, here goes Day One in Paradise: Snorkeling and ATV'ing!

This first picture is of Sandy Beach (it was actually called Sandy Beach.) It was supposedly a great place for bigger waves to boogie board. SOOOO PRETTY!
