TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER

This may be my first blog entry EVER, but I wanted to share a few things about Jeannette for her 31st birthday! Her actual birthday is May 30th, but we will be living it up on the beach in the Outer Banks. If you can't tell by reading blog entries, this house is run by Jeannette, I may pretend, but really things go smoother when she calls the shots. She is the creative mind in our marriage, socially outgoing, spontaneous, and has led the way in raising two beautiful children who we both adore and love, while I work my way through med school and residency.

She is a doodler, artistic, writes lists/reminders on anything and everything, still is faithful about wearing a retainer at night, loves to work out and play sports. She loves eating out sans children, is paranoid about our kids choking on foods - especially hot dogs and grapes, is excellent at doing impersonations of people, a loyal friend, and a loving wife.

She dreams of travel to Europe, China, Jerusalem, Costa Rica, Spain and anywhere tropical. She loves Seattle and New York City and always makes it a point to go to a new museum with each of her visits. We both dream of the day when we can actually have spare money to "splurge" on a few things that we really don't need but just want. She dislikes long winters, hates hearing me scrape my teeth on my fork while eating, and thinks it's funny that I can't sing. Or dance.

Many of my favorite memories with Jeannette usually involve her telling a story and impersonating people and then not being able to finish the story because she is laughing too hard. She has multiple "man-crushes," Mariano Rivera/Colin Firth/Dwight Howard's shoulder muscles. She love the New York Yankees. I'll never forget we were at a Detroit Tigers baseball game and she was waving/hooting at Derek Jeter and he made eye contact and acknowledged her with his baseball mitt and she just looked at me with the biggest smile. Very cute/funny.

Ultimately, I'm a lucky man and so are our kids. Jeannette knows how to have fun and be fun. Isaac recently got a shirt that says "TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER." The video below shows the real Jeannette at home, just an amazing woman.
