More of Eliza

Melt. There is something definitely different about photographing your own children. When it's anyone elses baby, I'm totally geared up. Being the mom of the baby, AND the photographer is a totally different feeling. I got her all set up, and I thought, "This is not going to work, she's going to wake up, I just know it!" But Eliza just decided to nap away through about 30 minutes of taking pictures. It was divine to see her sleep so soundly, even between headband changes and such :)

Not to seem too overly-emotional, but there is something that stirs in my heart, my gut, my mind, my entire body when I see ANY newborn baby. It's an added bonus when it is my own baby, but no matter who's baby it is, I am reminded of the absolute majesty of our Father in Heaven who has granted us the blessing to care for such tiny wonders. I am reminded of the unconditional love our Heavenly Father has for each of us, and each time I am left in tears thinking about all of the blessings we receive in our own personal lives. There is no way to doubt the miracle of life, especially when you hold it in your arms for the very first time.
